The 'Proper wood' crate of firewood is made up from very dense hardwood and as such the wood does not burn up fast. Because it is so hard it may need a few more kindling pieces to get the fire going, once it is alight, the hardwood burns long and hot. It produces a lovely hot bed of coals that will burn throughout any winter night, although perfect for any time of year.

The wood is chopped to 25cm length into smaller girth pieces perfect for all small stoves and fires.

South African is often referred to as “Blue Gum” and  has excellent burning qualities. As a high-density hardwood, it burns hot and long. Unlike softwood or low-density hardwoods, you can rely on blue gum for a long cold night. As a matter of fact, it may even leave some coals to start a morning fire.

All wood is sustainably sourced from invasive alien vegetation, it is naturally seasoned to well below 20% moisture and is ready to burn certified
