Warehouse Operative

We are looking to recruit an Operative to join our Warehouse team. The individual will need to be multi-skilled to be able to rotate around the various ‘stations’ within our storage operation although training can be provided to fill any skills gaps:


Goods in:
Manage deliveries to unit, receive goods in, check freight against booking in criteria check and sign paperwork, PODs etc., Unload vehicles using fork truck


Goods out:
Goods out (picking, packing & sorting freight into stillage’s/cages/pallets for delivery, preparing manifests, loading & sealing vehicle)
General duties including reworking & palletising freight, tidying/cleaning warehouse, stock taking

Required:

It is essential that you are a very customer focused individual who understands the importance of adhering to the highest standards with regards to security & quality protocols and customer expectations.
It would be of an advantage for you to have a forklift licence and/or experience of using one.
Exceptional attention to detail and a positive ‘can do’ attitude is vital to be a successful part of the ‘slick’ operation required of the warehouse team. The role involves a high degree of manual handling of freight. A driving licence is also essential.

Hours:
The team work rotating 9½ hour daily shifts with a half hour for lunch unpaid, (45 hour week) to cover the opening hours of the warehouse (5am to 7pm).


 

Collection and Delivery Driver Role upto 7.5t

Joining us as a Collection and Delivery Driver on a vehicle upto 7.5t, you will be a responsible driver transporting freight for our valued customers. You will represent Logs Direct in a professional but friendly manner with the customer at the heart of everything you do;
In this interesting and challenging role you will be responsible for:

 

  • Delivering a wide variety of items to different addresses and through different routes
  • Building and maintaining excellent relationships with customers ensuring you are a positive ambassador of Logs Direct
  • Delivering exceptional customer service at all times
  • Carrying out a daily check on the vehicle, equipment and load for which you have responsibility and reporting any defects ensuring that the axle and gross weights are compliant for maximum safety and protection on the road
  • Unloading and loading on customers' premises, where required
  • You will be responsible for loading your own vehicle
  • There may be a requirement to some Saturday deliveries

About You:

Although a track record in multi-drop delivery would be desirable, demonstrable experience in a similar role would be considered.

Essential

  • A valid C3 or above UK driving license
  • A driver CPC qualification and knowledge of a Digital Tachograph
  • Confidence and ability to conduct manual handling
  • Passionate and driven by delivering great customer service
  • Good communication skills
  • Previous experience of working to deadlines
  • Previous experience in a similar role
