Slough Restaurant Scoops A Coveted Woody Award!

An Italian restaurant in Burnham near Slough has scooped a coveted Logs Direct ‘Woody Award’ – the only award in the dining out sector which rewards chefs who cook delicious dishes using a wood-fired oven.

Artigiani del Cibo is a family restaurant which specialises in fresh and authentic Italian food cooked to order and which serves an extensive and varied menu, drawing on inspiration and flavour sensations from across Italy.

Since opening its doors in September last year, the restaurant, located on Burnham High Street, has picked up rave reviews from its customers.  This all went towards making it the Logs Direct Woody Award winner for December 2016 – a great achievement for a relatively new dining establishment.

One diner said: “Eating at Artigiani del Cibo makes you feel like you are on holiday in Italy – it’s the best Italian restaurant in the area.”

The Logs Direct judges were also impressed by the comments of another customer, who said, “The food and service were outstanding and the restaurant is really cosy.”

Much of the fresh, authentic produce is rustled up by Artigiani del Cibo’s Italian head chef in a wood-fired oven, operating on logs supplied by Logs Direct.

Artigiani del Cibo uses Logs Direct’s first-class, kiln-dried wood, with its consistent quality and moisture content of less than 20 per cent.  This maintains an even and consistent temperature within the wood oven and does not spit or smoke. Consequently, it does not taint the dough, or its taste, and does not create any acrid smoke within the restaurant, which could undermine the dining ambience.
