Logs Direct Named Biomass Suppliers for Renewable Heat Incentive

As another chilly week goes by in our little yard, we are proud to have achieved yet another accreditation. Logs Direct can now be found on the Biomass Suppliers List (BSL), which is excellent news for all of our customers who want to get in on the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI), as well as for all of our customers who enjoy knowing that their firewood is environmentally and responsibly sourced.

The Renewable Heat Incentive is the government's way of rewarding households which generate energy from biomass fuels, such as Logs Direct's very own virgin naturally seasoned and virgin forced dried wood. Virgin naturally seasoned is timber that has been through the seasoning process, where the wood is left stacked after harvesting and allowed to dry naturally, to get the moisture content below 25 per cent. Virgin force dried is timber that has been harvested and, instead of leaving it to season, is placed in a kiln and dried until the wood is below 25 per cent and ready to burn. The time scales are different depending on the types of wood and the density.

Being on the Biomass Suppliers List is also one more accreditation that proves the sustainability and ecologically friendliness of Logs Direct wood. This wood provides the perfect fuel to put in your biomass boiler and can be used either as normal logs or chip, depending on your boiler and your preferences.
